Club Overview

The GFWC Junior Woman’s Club of Charlotte (JWCC) was chartered by the North Carolina Federation Clubs (later GFWC of North Carolina) and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) in 1947. GFWC is one of the World's largest and oldest nondenominational, nonpartisan, international volunteer service organization of women. In 2002, GFWC of North Carolina celebrated 100 years of volunteerism.

In keeping with the tradition of the Charlotte Juniors, money raised by JWCC allows the citizens of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area to benefit by our projects and donations.  Since 1947, Charlotte Juniors have been involved in community improvement projects and supported National and State Federation projects. While we are proud of our past, we look forward to the future as we reach out to those in need in our community. Our history proves that we are able to carry out the tenets of our Junior pledge:

I pledge my loyalty to the Junior Clubwomen,

By doing better than ever before what work I have to do;

By being prompt, honest, courteous;

By living each day, trying to accomplish something, not merely to exist.
