The Junior Woman's Club of Charlotte offers different avenues for members to become involved in community service. Our Club programs and projects focus on the major issues of our time (e.g., supporting women’s health, preserving natural resources, promoting literacy and equality, encouraging volunteer service) and fall into the following areas of focus:
Our project and program objectives are to support the arts, preserve natural resources, advance education, promote healthy lifestyles, encourage civic involvement, and work toward world peace and understanding. Here is a sampling of our past projects:
Supporting the Charlotte Latin American festival
Playing with the children at Elon Homes
Preparing meals at Switchin' Kitchens for those needing food
Facilitating Bingo games at area Senior Centers
Shipping off shoe boxes at Operation Christmas Child
Sponsoring the Sallie Southall Cottan Scholarship
Assisting in the yearly KinderMourn ceremony
Supporting Girls on the Run and ALS events
